Gary Garnet, Warning Coordination Meteorologist (WCM), National Weather Service, NOAA
Gary Garnet has been a meteorologist with the National Weather Service for 17 years. Starting his career in the federal government in 1989, Gary has held many positions at several different locations in the National Weather Service.  His diverse career includes positions as a Meteorologist Intern in Charleston, South Carolina, Meteorologist-Forecaster in Charleston, West Virginia , Science Operations Officer in Grand Rapids, Michigan and currently as a Warning Coordination Meteorologist (WCM) in Cleveland Ohio.  As a WCM, Gary is in charge of all forecasts and services provided by the Cleveland forecast office.  He is the primary liaison between the NWS and all customers and partners served by the National Weather Service in Cleveland.   Gary has earned several awards throughout his career include the U.S. Department of Commerce Silver Medal for actions during Hurricane Hugo.   Gary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology from Ohio State University and a Master of Computer Science from Grand Valley State University.
