John R. LoGalbo, Esq., America Online (AOL) [web site]

John R. LoGalbo is Assistant General Counsel of AOL LLC.  Mr. LoGalbo manages the Compliance and Investigations Unit of AOL’s legal department, which handles all law enforcement legal process directed to AOL to obtain records pertaining to AOL members under federal and state laws, including the Stored Communications Act, the Pen/Trap Statute, the Wiretap Act, and FISA.  Prior to joining AOL, Mr. LoGalbo served as Senior Counsel in the Computer Crime and Intellectual Property Section of the Department of Justice.  In this position he advised federal prosecutors and law enforcement agencies on the technical and procedural law of computer crimes and electronic evidence.  He was one of several DOJ staff attorneys assigned to CFIUS, an interagency team led by the Justice Department that examines foreign ownership of U.S. communications service providers.  Prior to joining the Justice Department, Mr. LoGalbo was the Vice President of Public Policy for PSINet Inc., where he managed PSINet’s government relations and policy development in the areas of privacy, free speech, and network abuse, and acted as the company’s liaison to law enforcement.  Before joining PSINet’s legal department, Mr. LoGalbo was a technical support manager in PSINet’s Network Operations Center, where he was responsible for delivering Internet services to corporate customers and for technical training of support staff.  Mr. LoGalbo is a cum laude graduate of Colgate University and received his J.D. degree from New York University School of Law, where he wrote and edited for the NYU Journal of International Law and Politics.


Andrew M. Colarik, Ph.D. [web site]

Andrew M. Colarik is an independent information security consultant, researcher, author and inventor.

With over twenty-five (25) years utilizing computerized information systems, Dr. Colarik has an extensive knowledge of the foundations, architectures, and protocols of computer and Internet fundamentals and their associated vulnerabilities. He has and continues to provide simple, step by step explanations of the risks businesses face and how to protect systems from attacks.

Dr. Colarik holds a Ph.D. in Information Systems (Security) and a Masters in Business Administration (MIS).  The combination of his credentials and years of providing systems training brings a well balanced insight on key security issues facing organizations today.  As a consultant, Dr. Colarik continues to provide systems design, security administration, equipment review and selection, troubleshooting, and hands-on training of installed systems for businesses in the financial, manufacturing, and government industries.  As a researcher, author, and inventor, Andrew has been published in top-tier security conferences, authored information security books, and is the inventor of both utility and design patents.  The latest of these publications include:
