Mr. Chris Sonderby, Esq. Lead Security and Investigations Counsel, Facebook

Chris Sonderby joined Facebook in 2010 as its Lead Security and Investigations Counsel.  He is responsible for managing its global law enforcement relations, including incoming requests and outgoing referrals, as well as law enforcement and security policy matters.  Before joining Facebook, Chris was a prosecutor with the United States Department of Justice for 12 years.  From 2006 until mid-2010, Mr. Sonderby served as the DOJ's representative in Asia based at the US Embassy in Bangkok where he worked closely with US and foreign law enforcement authorities on large-scale transnational criminal matters.  Before his tour in Bangkok, Chris served as Chief of the Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property (CHIP) Unit of the US Attorney's Office in San Jose, California.  At the time, San Jose was the leading high-technology prosecution office in the United States.  He also headed the Computer Crimes Section of the US Attorney's Office in Sacramento, California.  Mr. Sonderby has taught computer crime classes as an adjunct professor at the Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California at Berkeley.  He is a graduate of the University of Chicago Law School and University of Michigan.


Mr. John Grim, Senior Security Consultant, Verizon Business

John Grim is a Senior Security Consultant with the Verizon Business Investigative Response Team.  In his investigative role, he responds to cyber-related security incidents, conducts on-site threat mitigation, and performs a variety of forensic examination activities on behalf of customers worldwide.  Mr. Grim has over 18 years experience fulfilling various roles in the government and civilian security sectors.

Prior to joining Verizon Business, Mr. Grim served 12 years with the U.S. Army investigating security related incidents; with eight years specifically focused on network intrusion investigations and forensic examinations. In addition to this experience, Mr. Grim has attended over one thousand hours of classroom and scenario-based training in incident response, intrusion/insider investigations, data recovery, evidence handling, forensic analysis, and threat mitigation.

Using this knowledge and his practical hands-on experience, Mr. Grim has provided computer security related advice, assistance, and formalized instruction to both technical and non-technical audiences.  Mr. Grim has also authored or contributed to various policies, procedures, and handbooks on incident response, evidence handling, and forensic examinations.


Mr. Andy Bonillo, Principal Consultant, Investigative Response, Verizon Business
Mr. Andy Bonillo is a Principal Consultant for the Investigative Response unit at Verizon Business Services and has more than 10 years of investigative experience. Prior to joining Verizon Business, Andy was a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service where he coordinated and investigated large scale network intrusion investigations worldwide. He consulted on over 60 data breaches from a law enforcement perspective, and is internationally recognized as an expert in online criminal groups and cyber crime.  Recently, Andy was presented with the Department of Justice’s United States Attorney General Distinguished Service Award for his role in investigating the largest cyber crime case in United States history (USA vs. Albert Gonzalez). Andy is a computer forensics examiner, a certified expert witness, and a frequent presenter and instructor on cyber crime, the underground economy, electronic crimes, and data compromise.  He has appeared on NBC’s The Today Show, presented to members of the United States Senate Republican High Tech Task Force, and is a guest lecturer at American University.
Mr. Bonillo has also provided physical protection to the President of the United States, former Presidents and world leaders at various threat levels, and applies his physical security knowledge to IT security.
